Class B Licensed Asbestos Removalists in Australia

Last updated June 2026

A Class B licence lets the holder remove non-friable (bonded) asbestos-containing materials where the area is more than 10 square metres. Non-friable asbestos turns up in common building materials like fibre cement sheeting (fibro), vinyl floor tiles, and asbestos cement pipes. It's lower risk than friable asbestos because the fibres are locked into a solid matrix, but removing it in any quantity still calls for a licence.

State and territory WHS regulators issue Class B licences. This page lists contractors who currently hold one. A Class A licensee can do Class B work too, but a Class B licensee can't touch friable asbestos.
