Licensed Asbestos Assessors in Australia

Last updated June 2026

A licensed asbestos assessor is an independent professional who can run asbestos surveys, issue clearance certificates after removal, and carry out air monitoring. For a clearance inspection the assessor has to be independent of the removal contractor, so the check that an area is safe to reoccupy comes from someone with no stake in the result.

Assessors are licensed by their state or territory WHS regulator and have to meet competency, experience, and insurance requirements. This page lists assessors working across Australia who can run Division 2 (management) and Division 3 (refurbishment and demolition) surveys, prepare asbestos registers, and issue clearance certificates.

Methodology

The assessors listed here come from the Asbestos List directory and are reviewed before publication. The numbers update on their own as new assessors are approved.

Licence details are as reported by each assessor. Because an assessor must be independent of the removalist on a clearance job, check both their licence and that independence before you engage them.
