Asbestos Training Providers in Northland, New Zealand
Organisations delivering asbestos awareness and licensing training.
Asbestos awareness training is a legal requirement for any worker who may encounter asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) on the job. Under the WHS Regulations, a person conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU) must ensure workers are trained before carrying out asbestos-related work. Removal licence applicants must also complete approved competency units.
All licensed asbestos removal requires a licence from WorkSafe: Class A permits removal of any quantity of friable and non-friable asbestos. Nominated supervisors need at least three years of experience including a minimum of 600 days removing friable asbestos. The PCBU must have a certified safety management system, and an independent assessor must do air monitoring and issue clearance certificates. Work in Northland is regulated by WorkSafe NZ - Asbestos.
Confirm the provider is a registered training organisation (RTO) in Australia or delivers recognised unit standards in New Zealand. Check the specific units covered match what you or your workers need for the licence class you are targeting.
For more information, see WorkSafe NZ - Asbestos.
