Asbestos Survey Providers in Australia

Last updated June 2026

An asbestos survey is a methodical inspection of a building to find where asbestos-containing materials are, what type they are, and what condition they're in. Two types are common in Australia. A Division 2 (management) survey covers the ACMs you can reach during normal use of the building and forms the basis of an asbestos register. A Division 3 (refurbishment and demolition) survey goes further and is required before any work that disturbs the building fabric, such as a renovation, fit-out, or demolition.

This page lists businesses that provide asbestos survey services across Australia. A survey should be done by a competent person, and any clearance inspection after removal has to be done by a licensed assessor who is independent of the removal contractor.
