Class A Licensed Asbestos Removalists in Australia

Last updated June 2026

A Class A licence is the highest level of asbestos removal licence in Australia. It lets the holder remove every type of asbestos-containing material, including friable (crumbly) asbestos such as sprayed coatings, pipe lagging, and loose-fill insulation. Friable asbestos is the riskiest form, because once it's disturbed the fibres get into the air easily.

State and territory WHS regulators issue Class A licences, and applicants have to hold specific competency units, show removal experience, and keep up the right insurance and safety systems. This page lists contractors who currently hold a Class A licence, which means they can take on any asbestos removal work.
